Our ultimate objective is to help companies expand their product range. This is something that requires organisation. Experience has taught us the importance of establishing clear working procedures and distribution of roles when working with our customers. AI's work is therefore organised into four key stages:


Idea generation and idea protection

What we do: In this stage, AI generates the concepts and ideas your company can use to gain a competitive advantage. We protect and own the rights to the ideas and license them to our customers.

What we expect from clients: Our clients participate in critiquing our concepts and solutions. We appreciate that our clients have the in-depth knowledge that will help to refine our ideas to deliver a true competitive advantage.

Our business model: AI receives a royalty fee for each of our products sold. If our partners need extra support, as occasionally happens, we charge for this on a per-project or hourly basis, or else we might tie our fees to future royalties.


Product development and maturation

What we do: In this stage, we make the basic product and participate in the process by which the product matures and is made ready for production.

What we expect from clients: We expect our partners to participate actively in this part of the process by offering us constructive criticism.

Our business model: Again, if our partners need extra support, as occasionally happens, we charge for this on a per-project or hourly basis, or else we might tie our fees to future royalties.


Implementation and packaging

What we do: Several of our clients ask for our input in designing the packaging of the product. AI can either apply its own expertise here or bring in external resources and expertise.

What we expect from clients: We expect our partners to participate actively in this part of the process by offering us constructive criticism in helping prepare the product for sale.

Our business model: For this part of the process we charge on a per-project or hourly basis in line with a pre-arranged budget.


Redevelopment

What we do: After a product has been launched commercially, our clients sometimes want to develop a second, third or even fourth version. AI absorbs the costs for such work, but there are areas in which work might be shared with the customer.

What we expect from clients: We expect our partners to participate actively in this part of the process by offering us constructive criticism in order to help prepare the product for sale.

At AI, we believe it's important to have a clear distribution of roles between ourselves and our customers, with each party playing to its strengths. Although in practice the boundaries can occasionally get blurred, having as clear lines of activity as possible helps everybody understand their responsibilities.

To put it simply, AI takes responsibility for all product development, maturity and in-selling to the first customers in partnership with the customer. Everything else is handled by our customers. However, AI is there, if needed, to contribute to marketing activities after the product has been launched, and also to help develop the product into the future.
